Remuneration Systems

In many cases in Germany, remuneration is governed by a collective wage agreement. This does not exclude certain parts of the remuneration package from being performance-related. Whether these performance-related components are paid on a long-term basis or are regarded as voluntary benefits that may be withdrawn is dependent on the exact formulation of the employment contract.
